Those of you who signed up for WCM’s e-mail updates received a letter from Wendi in March 2010 which spoke of her improved health, recent visit to the Orlando House of Hope, and upcoming plans to attend a Speak Up Seminar in June. In the e-letter Wendi asked for specific prayer for increased opportunities to share her vision and testimony with others. Two days after that prayer request was sent out, Wendi received an invitation to participate in a fantastic opportunity: she will share her testimony at the Tenth Anniversary Unity Christian Music Festival in Muskegon, Michigan – August 13, 14, 15. Thank you for praying!

Several thousand young people are expected to attend – please pray with us that God will use Wendi mightily!

God brought Wendi to this church during a hurting time for their youth, since the week prior to her speaking, a teen had committed suicide. Tender hearts and questions gave Wendi a wonderful opportunity to encourage and stir their hearts toward not only being aware of hurting teens, but the importance of keeping the doors of communication open.

June 12 – Good Samaritan Ministries – Holland, Michigan

Wendi will be sharing her testimony, followed by a Q & A time in Holland, Michigan for the Good Samaritan Ministries at 9:30 a.m. on Friday morning, June 12.

Recently, Wendi organized a “Service Connect” event in west Michigan. Read about it in this Grand Haven Tribune article published March 21, 2009.

Wild Child Ministries was in Knoxville in October. On Thursday evening, October 16 at 6:30pm, Wendi English shared her testimony at a Celebrate Recovery gathering at Cokesbury Center, Knoxville, Tennessee.

On Friday evening, October 17 at 6:30pm, Wendi English and Karilee Hayden were the featured speakers at a mother/daughter reception dinner sponsored by Chick Chat on Love89 FM at Middlebrook Gardens in Knoxville, Tennessee.

History was made recently, as my daughter (Wendi English) and I shared the platform at a ladies conference in central Wisconsin. It was the first time since Wendi was a pre-teen that we have shared ministry together. What a great honor and joy! My heart is still overflowing with deep thanksgiving and praise to God for Wendi’s radiant testimony and for the Christ-like woman she has become.

One hundred and twenty women gathered from a half-dozen states for a weekend at Camp Forest Springs, in Westboro, Wisconsin. In our four sessions, Wendi shared her testimony along with snippets of what she was thinking during those 20 years of running from God. Her topic: Getting Inside the Mind of Your Prodigal. Each session ended with a song beautifully sung by Wendi…

In turn, I shared my heart’s desire for all of us (individual Christians and the church as a whole) to reach out to prodigals and their families – to love these wayward kids instead of condemning them. What do YOU see when looking at a “Wild Child?”

The three-day weekend was wonderful! Lots of good food, old friendships renewed and new friends made, great fun! It was a privilege for both of us to share thoughts from God’s Word in regard to reaching out to prodigals, and praying regularly for them!

To top it off, God sent an extra special blessing just for me (living in tropical ol’ Orlando, Florida): And more SNOW . . .

A mid-April snowstorm? Yes, and I loved it . . . even though, when flying to the retreat, I was stranded in Minneapolis (all flights were cancelled) . . . and even though I had to rent a car with other stranded passengers, traveling late at night from the Twin Cities to Wausau, Wisconsin. I adored every minute of it! The storm came and went quickly, leaving a gorgeous landscape that it glistened like shimmering diamonds in the sun. Look at the pictures and tell me what you think…
